KEDM announces spring membership drive
90.3 KEDM Public Radio, northeast Louisiana’s public radio station housed at ULM, has scheduled its spring membership drive to begin Saturday, March 24 at 7 a.m. and conclude at noon on Saturday, March 31.
Special guests including local politicians and community leaders, as well as members of KEDM, will be featured as on-air hosts during the live fundraising event. Fund proceeds will go toward programming costs, equipment, and operational expenses.
General Manager Cynthia Perdue said, “ ... I look forward to speaking with each of you about what you like the most (and the least) on your public radio station. Please join us as we rally together to support one of our area’s finest natural resources.”
KEDM’s primary focus is to provide the community with quality, diverse programming, and to serve as a catalyst to improve the area’s overall cultural, educational, and social needs.
Volunteers from all over the area will participate in the fundraiser by answering phones and taking pledges and being on the air with the KEDM staff.
KEDM Development Director Susan Allain said, “We are dependent upon our volunteers to come in and help us with the fundraiser, so I encourage anyone who would like to volunteer to help us to call me at the station.”
In addition to the volunteers who come into the station, area restaurants and grocery stores are needed to donate materials to feed the volunteers.
