Student participation in homecoming activities a record high
As part of Homecoming Week, the Campus Activities Board held a Spirit Banner competition on Tuesday with 33 entries from student organizations, residence halls, and departments. First place winner was University Commons II, second place went to the Pikes and third place to the 31 Ambassadors. Several of the entries will be on display outside Malone Stadium on Friday. Also on Tuesday the CAB sponsored a free student lunch social with 850 students attending. That evening 450 students attended the Drive-In Movie in the Grove, the highest number of students to ever attend.
On Wednesday 700 students attended the Unity Step Show, which featured 12 steppers from Kappa Delta and Delta Sigma Theta sororities and 50 LA Gear Up students and Student Lunch Social held in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Seven contestants participated in the Miss(ter) FAU Pageant Wednesday night in Brown Auditorium. Winner of the pageant was “Josefina Morales” portrayed by Efrain Salinas, SOT, with “Miss Sophia Shady Buttercup” portrayed by Arthur Price, APhiA, 1st runner up and “Curvy Roads” portrayed by Andrew Norwood, Pikes, 2nd runner up.
