School of Visual and Performing Arts Offers More Cultural Delights
The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) continues to offer the cultural enthusiast opportunities for artistic satisfaction this semester.
VAPA will present the 13th Annual Junior/Senior High School Juried Art Exhibition on its campus from March 13-30. The competition between the students will be held at the Bry Art Gallery. A reception and awards program will occur Friday, March 17 at 6 p.m.
The ULM Symphonic Band will present a concert Thursday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
The concert will feature works by Gustav Holst, James Barnes, Alfred Reed, and John Zdechlik. Guest conductor Barton Harrison will conduct The Hounds of Spring by Reed.
The ULM Symphonic Band is under the direction of Myron Turner. Admission is free.
On Tuesday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m., baritone Corey Trahan will present a recital as part of the Faculty Artist Concert Series. Admission to the event at Brown Auditorium is $7 for the public and is free for ULM students, faculty and staff with I.D.
Dr. Deborah Chandler, choir director, will conduct the ULM Chamber Singers in a spring concert Thursday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Biedenharn Recital Hall. Admission is free.
