ULM Art History Instructor Shows Work in Houston Photography Exhibition

Camille Jungman, a ULM art history instructor, is exhibiting her photography at The University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

Camille Jungman's exhibition consists of two bodies of work. Her portfolio "Journey,” shows black and white gelatin silver prints that have been toned and hand-colored. These prints feature classical Egyptian, Greek and Roman subjects emphasizing the organic nature of the relationship between the sites and their physical environments.

Another portfolio called "Classical Women in History, Legend and Myth," reveals large archival pigment ink prints, which depict images of contemporary women that have been reconfigured to suggest stories and myths of ancient women.

A reception honoring Jungman was held March 11 in the Little Archaeology Gallery at the University of St. Thomas. The Jungman exhibition is a part of the Eleventh International Biennial of Photography and Photo-related Art - called FotoFest 2006. Her exhibition will be on display through May 5.
