Holland Resigns from Helm of Indian Baseball Program
Brad Holland, ULM's baseball head coach, has resigned.
"I felt it was time to step aside as head coach," Holland said. "It is in the best interest of the program right now to have new leadership."
Holland, who has served ULM since 2001, led the Indians to a record of 150-151. He guided the team to a share of the Southland Conference regular season championship in 2002. The 2004 team reached the championship game of the league's post-season tournament.
"We appreciate Brad's contributions to ULM," said athletic director Bobby Staub. "We wish him and his family the best for the future."
Staub has named assistant baseball coach Jeff Schexnaider the interim head coach pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. A process will take place at the end of the season to find a permanent head coach.
"We appreciate Jeff taking on the head coaching duties for the remainder of the season," Staub said. "We look forward to turning things around during the conference season."
