Residential Life Employees Awarded JPI Diamond Awards

JPI, one of the nation’s largest apartment companies, has awarded Diamond Awards to two employees who are part of the student living management team at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Kahyon Sciara, service supervisor, was recipient of the Extra Mile Award, which is awarded to a JPI Associate who exceeded all expectations, took calculated risks to improve performance and reached a challenging goal. Sciara is a Monroe native and has been employed by JPI since October 2004. Prior to joining JPI’s Property Management team, Sciara was a master locksmith and carpenter for ULM.

Tresea Buckhaults, Director of Residential Life, received the On-site Property Management Diamond Award, given to the on-site property manager whose team exhibited exemplary service to their students in property management. Buckhaults joined JPI in July 2004 and previously worked for Capstone On-Campus Management, where she was Executive Director of Residence Life.

“Tresea and Kahyon are pivotal members of our property management team at ULM,” said Dana Hampton, Regional Manager for JPI. “Both embody all of the values JPI is guided by, including a commitment to excellence and service to the students of ULM. Their Diamond Awards are well deserved.”

The JPI Diamond Awards are an annual honor bestowed upon JPI Associates who have demonstrated outstanding service for the company. The awards are voted upon by JPI Associates’ internal peers and administrators.

JPI provides development, construction and property management services for conventional and student living communities nationwide. The ULM Department of Residential Life provides comprehensive management services through JPI on an ongoing basis for the entire on-campus student housing program, which will total 1,663 beds.

In addition, JPI is currently at work on a multi-phase development project at ULM, which will ultimately replace and renovate 90 percent of ULM’s student housing. Construction on the first phase of the development commenced in May 2004 and is expected to be fully complete by Fall 2006.
