Bry Art Gallery shows two-person senior exhibition

The Bry Art Gallery in the Division of Art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is currently showing a two-person senior exhibition of ceramics by Kelly Fuller and paintings by Melissa Rogers.

Fuller's exhibition consists of wheel-thrown glazed stoneware, raku and porcelain utilitarian ware in the form of bowls, containers, bottles plates and lidded objects. In support of this major statement, the artist has embellished some pieces with incised decorative patterns, as well as including in her display figurative ceramic sculpture and printmaking, wall hanging images of landscape etching, figurative and landscape lithography, and figurative hand colored lithography.

Rogers' canvases are primarily statements in oil in which the artist has explored figurative, still life and landscape imagery with personal fantasy and an impasto application of pigments. She has also included figurative color media drawings in this collection.

The Fuller-Rogers exhibition will be on view through June 9. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. ­ 5 p.m. on weekdays that the university is in session.
