ULM students approve referendum
Late Thursday afternoon, ULM's Student Government Association (SGA) announced that the student body approved a referendum to increase student fees by $50 per semester to help fund student groups.
The additional funds will support the Student Success Center, athletics, spirit groups, 31 Ambassadors and more, SGA Advisor Dr. Martha Burns Anderson said. "This referendum will help maintain and improve what we already have," she said.
The SGA, which is funded through a student activity fee each semester, supports recognized ULM student organizations that need additional funding.
Recently, the SGA provided $7,500 to support the Water Ski Team at the national championships. The SGA also supports the Presidential Lyceum Series, Homecoming, Christmas at ULM and the Mardi Gras Ball.
