Pi Sigma Epsilon Wins Big at National Convention
ULM Students from Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) recently received several honors from the National PSE Convention and Competition held in Miami this past week, including the "Special Merit Award", beating out many finalists, including Purdue University.
"I feel this is the most prestigious award we won," said Dr. Roy J Clinton, Faculty Advisor, Zeta Chapter. This honor acknowledges outstanding effort in the application of the principles of Pi Sigma Epsilon to overcome a significant problem or obstacle in operating and managing the chapter.
PSE students also received 'The Highest Percent Increase In Membership' award. Wendy Lively, chapter president, received the Chapter's Most Valuable Member award and Dr. Clinton received the Outstanding New Faculty Advisor Award.
The dedication of the PSE students to their university and community is evident by the numerous hours they spend in campus and community activities, new student recruitment, soliciting advertisers for the Monroe Symphony Orchestra Program, promoting the NELA Business Showcase, the March Madness Golf Tournament, and many other projects.
Currently for year 2005 the ULM Zeta Chapter is the number two chapter in the nation, behind Illinois State University. This standing is based on number of points awarded for service and other projects.
"I am more than proud of our students; I am ecstatic," said Dr. Clinton.
Pi Sigma Epsilon members include Dr. Roy Clinton (Faculty Advisor), Wendy Lively (Chapter President), Brittney Hale, Stacy Truett, Lee Irwin, Amanda Colter, Paula Ramirez, Ian Shows, and Jennifer Adams.
