President Cofer's Statement on State Farm Leaving Monroe
"We're disappointed by State Farm's decision, but right now it's
important that we all recommit ourselves to the larger economic development
efforts of the region. We have a lot to be proud of in northeast Louisiana,
and this setback should spur us to intensify our efforts to market our strengths
to new and expanding companies. Our people are friendly, but tough, and
we'll bounce back. As for current state farm employees, I spoke briefly
with Jean Baird today after the announcement and we will be working to make
access to training at ULM easy. As State Farm employees consider the future,
ULM will help them prepare."
