ULM to Hold 75th Anniversary Event in September
The University of Louisiana at Monroe is planning a celebration of its 75th year anniversary. The event, "Envision ULM 2004", will be at the Monroe Civic Center on the evening of September 9 at 6 p.m.
This community event will be the kick-off of the 75th anniversary celebration of the university, which will be held in 2006. At the event, ULM President Dr. James Cofer will discuss the campus' $50 million housing project and the university strategic plan, the new Athletic Director Bobby Staub will discuss athletics, and a faculty representative will speak on academics. Numerous alumni and representatives from the community will be present at this event.
For the first time in ULM history, the Hall of Distinction Award will be presented to an alumnus, friend or supporter of the university. The Golden Arrow Award and the Slim Scogin Award recipients will also be recognized. The Kiwanis Clubs, the Chambers of Commerce, and the School Boards will also be recognized for their role in getting the university started as Ouachita Junior College in 1931.
A silent and live auction of university memorabilia, special VIP packages, and other items will take place. A social time, dinner and live music are also on the agenda. All ULM supporters, family and friends are welcome. Tickets are $30 per person and $240 per table of 8 (includes a meal and wine). Seating is limited to 900 people.
