Russian Pianist to Perform at ULM
ULM, in conjunction with Biedenharn Museum & Gardens, presents Russian pianist Vladimir Zaitsev in two performances on Thursday, May 6 at the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on ULM's campus.
Zaitsev, a native of Kiev, Ukraine, has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and for numerous audiences in Italy, the Far East and Canada. While classically trained, his popular repertoire enables him to entertain audiences at The Grand Ole' Opry, at festivals, on college campuses, and on cruise ships.
There is no fee for this "Windows On Russia" event and reservations are not necessary. Afternoon Recital Hour at 1:30 p.m. will feature music and conversation with the artist. The evening concert, at 7:30 p.m. will feature light classical music and popular selections.
"Windows On Russia" is a series of more than 50 exhibitions, programs and performances offered during 2003-04 by a partnership of area cultural and civic organizations, and is supported, in part, by grants from the Louisiana State Arts Council through the Louisiana Division of the Arts and in cooperation with the Southern Arts Federation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council.
