ULM Faculty Artist Subscription Series to Open Thursday
Dr. Richard Seiler will open the ULM Faculty Artist Subscription
Series Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Beidenharn Recital Hall.
There will be three prevalent themes throughout the program.
The Spanish portion will honor Louisiana's Spanish heritage,
the French portion will honor the bicentennial of the Louisiana
Purchase, and the "war" portion will honor the events
of 9/11 and the ensuing war. The war piece is Sonata No. 6 in
A Major by Sergei Prokofiev, two French Sonatas by Dominico Scarlatti
and several Spanish Dances by Enrique Granados.
Dr. Seiler is chair of the Keyboard Department in the Division
of Music. He has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber
musician and accompanist throughout the southeastern United States.
He also serves as organist/choirmaster at Grace Episcopal Church
in Monroe.
This concert is the first installment of the new ULM Faculty Artist Subscription Series. Season tickets and individual event tickets are available. Tickets for Thursday's recital are $7.00 per person. Call Carolyn Bruce at 342-1570 for more information. A reception will follow the concert.
