ULM Remembers September 11, 2001
Today at 12 noon, the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Government Association held a ceremony to remember and reflect on the events of September 11, 2001 as well as pay tribute to the men and women of the military who serve our country. ULM Assistant to the President Dr. Richard Hood welcomed the crowd of approximately 200 students, faculty, and staff.
At the event the ULM ROTC posted the colors followed by Taps, played a ULM student, and a time of reflection.
The names of United States military personnel close to or part of the ULM family were read in appreciation of their service.
Mark Robinson, Director of the ULM Baptist College Ministry, followed with an uplifting message and prayer for the families of the victims of 9-11, our country, the military, and the ULM campus. The ceremony was concluded with the SGA President, Kayla Haltom, and Vice President, Leslie Citizen, releasing two white doves; one for hope and one for peace.
