ULM Water Ski Team Hosts Tournament This Weekend

The University of Louisiana at Monroe's 2002 National Championship Water Ski Team is hosting a tournament on Bayou DeSiard this Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5.

"Bayou Fest", the Regional Water Ski Championships, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. There will be approximately 85 skiers competing from 14 universities. The top three qualifying teams from ULM's meet will go on to compete in the National Championships. This year the 2003 National Championships, hosted by the University of Texas, will be held October 16-18 in San Marcos.

The ULM Water Ski Team has held the national title 17 times, including the 2002 title, which it currently holds.

Everyone is invited to watch the skiers on the bayou over the weekend.
