ULM Athletes to participate in City Clean-Up efforts
This Saturday, March 9, The University of Louisiana at Monroe
athletes will participate in Monroe Mayor, Jamie Mayo's, "Operation
Clean Sweep" Neighborhood Blitz. The student-athletes, who
will include team members from a variety of ULM sports, will
meet in front of Malone Stadium at 7:15 a.m. ULM coaches will
also be on hand. They will be working at the Powell Community
Center, and in the Booker T. area.
ULM Senior Woman Administrator, Traci Murphy, is coordinating
this event for the ULM volunteers. She says, "The athletes
feel like they want to give back to the community. Since Mayor
Mayo is a former ULM athlete and has helped with the athletic
program, the students felt the event would be a wonderful opportunity
for community involvement."
