Area Students Inducted Into Mortar Board
Thirty area students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe
have been inducted
into Mortar Board, a national honor society for seniors. Mortar
Board recognizes students for distinguished ability and achievement
in scholarship, leadership and service. A student must have at
least a 3.0 grade point average to be eligible for membership.
Students inducted and their majors are: Jennifer Burgess, nursing;
Ashley Colleen Burkett, music; Mayra Celina Cordova, foreign
language-Spanish; Gilda M. Curry, pre-pharmacy; Sarah P. Davidson,
art; Caroline C. Dixon, biology; Shara L. Edmonson, pre-occupational
therapy; Kristal Gentry, marketing; Curtis E. Goodwin, speech;
Angela Hillman, general studies; Mikko Kemppe, finance; Heidi
Lambertson, social work; Brian J. Lawton, biology; Kevin Michael
Oliver, English; Ashley Nero, computer science; Wendy Rice, pre-pharmacy;
John Floyd Taylor, toxicology; Brienne N. Shelby, accounting;
all from Monroe; Jordan Huffstutter, pre-dental hygiene; Meredeth
Mayeaux, elementary education; Benny Calvin Parks Jr., finance;
all from West Monroe; Mary Luvenna Anderson, social work; and
Mia Whiteside, social work; both from Oak Grove; Ellen Deann
Boyett, social work, Columbia; Betsey Eileen Smith, communicative
disorders, and Phoebe Phillips, foreign language-Spanish, both
of Winnsboro; Elissa Kaye Dubois, general business, Bentley;
Romeeka Taylor, pre-law, Sicily Island; Katherine Taylor Phillips,
speech, Pioneer; and Lakica Rice, accounting, Minden.
