Board Of Supervisors Approve Brumfield As Vice President Of Student Affairs At ULM
Dr. Wayne Brumfield was approved today by the Louisiana Board of Supervisors as the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Brumfield will begin on July 15. Brumfield's responsibilities at ULM will include reorganizing enrollment services and enrollment management and revising student life initiatives on campus.
Brumfield has over 12 years experience in admissions, records, registration, recruitment, and freshman orientation. His most recent position, since 1999, has been as Registrar and Director of Admissions at Louisiana State University at Eunice. Previously he held the position of Director of Admissions and Recruitment at Southern University at Baton Rouge. He has experience in the management of student records, coordinating admissions of prospective students and registration activities. He also has assisted in the Strategic Enrollment Management Task Force planning for the campus recruitment, retention, and orientations programs at LSU Eunice.
Dr. Brumfield's degrees include a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Research from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, an M.A. in History from Southeastern Louisiana University at Hammond, and a B.A. in History from the University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette.
This is the first permanent appointment made by ULM's President, Dr. Cofer. This appointment reinforces Dr. Cofer's commitment to the students, representing his priorities as outlined in his inaugural speech. Dr. Brumfield becomes the first Vice President for Student Affairs at ULM. Previously these responsibilities were handled by the Dean of Student Affairs, a position that has been eliminated.
