ULM is host to One-Woman Show based on the life of Janis Joplin
In celebration of Women's History Month in March, Busted Flat in Baton Rouge, will be performed at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The one-woman show is based on the life of '70's singer/songwriter, Janis Joplin. Dr. Tracy Stephenson, Instructor of Communication Studies at Louisiana State University, is the featured actress. Dr. Stephenson's past work has focused on the performance/impersonation of public icons. She has appeared as Madonna and Mickey Mouse in past portrayals.
The ULM Department of Speech Communication and Theatre sponsor the show. Performances are Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd at 7:30 p.m. in Spyker Theatre. There will be a "meet the artist reception" following each performance. There is no charge for the event.
