ULM professor and Fullbright Lecturer hosts Baroque Discussion
The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens will present a lecture on Baroque Style in Music and Art on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Christopher Thompson, D.M.A., and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, is the featured speaker.
Dr. Thompson will relate the elements of Baroque art and music
to aspects of our modern culture. The presentation combines a
lecture-demonstration on the violin with digital images of Bernini's
Baldacchino at St. Peters in Rome. Dr. Thompson is a Senior Fullbright
Lecturer and has performed as a solo violinist and recitalist.
Admission is free. The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens is located
at 2006 Riverside Drive, Monroe, LA.
