ULM's College of Business Administration achieves reaccreditation

The College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Monroe has achieved reaffirmation of accreditation of its bachelor and master's degree programs in business administration. The official notification came this week from the Board of Directors of AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

"AACSB accreditation is the highest recognition a college if business can receive, so reaffirmation of AACSB accreditation is an important milestone in the ongoing development of the College," Ernest Moser, ULM's Interim Dean of the College of Business Administration, said. "It gives recognition to the CBA's continuing commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service."

As of April, 2001, there were only 405 accredited institutions worldwide-391 in North America (including 382 in the United States, seven in Europe, three in Asia, two in South America, one in Central America, and one in the Middle East.

To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the expectations of a wide range of quality standards relating to curriculum, faculty resources, admissions, degree requirements, library bad computer facilities, financial resources and intellectual climate that are all mission-linked.

During the accreditation process, ULM's College of Business Administration was visited and evaluated by business school deans with detailed knowledge of management education. Among other items, the peer review team complimented ULM's College of Business Administration on its comprehensive curricula review process and the faculty's genuine commitment to teaching excellence.
