ULM's International Student Association hosts event
ULM's International Student Association has designated March 19 to March 24 as International Student Week 2001.
The festivities will be "flagged off" at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2001, with an opening ceremony involving a small colorful parade of international students carrying flags representing their countries. After the parade, faculty and students can feast on delicious international cuisine that will be made available in booths in the vicinity. These booths will also have on display native garments, artifacts, and general information about the respective countries.
During International Student Week, ULM international students will compete against the international students from Louisiana Tech in many events including soccer, cricket, volleyball, and badminton. Movies from different parts of the globe will be aired on campus for the rest of the week. Admission to all these events will be open to all at no charge.
An invitation only banquet for faculty and students in the University Library will end the week on Saturday, March 24, 2001.
For more information about the International Student Week can be obtained by calling the International Student Office at 318-362-4689 or by emailing them at internation@ulm.edu.
