Chautauqua Nexus presents "Brain and Mind and Phantoms"
The next meeting of the Chautauqua Nexus will be on Friday, March 16, 2001 at 4:30 P.M. The meeting will take place on the second floor of the SUB, on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
John Knesel of the ULM biology department will present "Brain and Mind and Phantoms." The presentation is about the nature of consciousness and what makes us human. There is a raging debate among experts who argue about whether it's our "hardware" or our "software" that makes us human.
Quote from Knesel:
"When you are thinking
about something (anything), how do you know you are thinking
about that thing?"
Time: 4:30 PM, Friday, March 2, 200l
Place: 2nd floor SUB on the campus of the University of Louisiana
at Monroe
