Three ULM professors honored during Fall 2001
Three professors from the University of Louisiana at Monroe have recently received recognition for their professional activities.
Every year the Southwest Society on Aging receives nominations and selects SWSA Fellows based on their achievements and dedication to the field of aging and gerontology. Dr. Jan Bowman, ULM Gerontology Professor, was selected as one of nine SWSA Fellows for 2001. SWSA cited Dr. Bowman's service to the aging network as outstanding. The focus of SWSA is to promote education and advocacy of older adult issues and concerns as well as provide a network of communication among professionals in the field.
The American Council for Construction Education presented Mr. Herbert McCaskill, Associate Professor in ULM's School of Construction, with a plaque in appreciation for his personal involvement and professional leadership as the 1999-2001 President of the ACCE.
Mr. Jon Camp, ULM Computer Science Instructor, was awarded an honorable mention and publication of his short story, "The Red Eyed Monster of Cadeville County." It was entered into a short story contest sponsored by talented and Creative Ink, Corp. of The Woodlands, Texas. It will appear in an upcoming issue of "No Experience Required."
