ULM's Chautauqua Nexus presents "Linguistic Philosophy Meets Literary Criticism"

The Chautauqua Nexus will meet on Friday, April 6, at 4:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Union Building on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus.

Two ULM honor students, Kevin Oliver and Shane Thompson present "Linguistic Philosophy Meets Literary Criticism"..."and they have tea and biscuits....".

They will stimulate our imagination with, perhaps, reveries from "Alice in Wonderland," riding us on a magic carpet through the low-slung, tortured skylines and landscapes of Monsieur Derrida and "Deconstructionist literary criticism". Can a writer really say anything comprehensible or does what he or she write simply disintegrate into meaningless debris and fall through the cracks of the rain gutters ending up as meaningless debris in the underground pipes of the reader's own fuzzy imagination, and, therefore, produce nothing outside what the reader brings to it from his own psyche, his own imagination, his own biases, and life-experience?

Bring your own imagination and your own ideas about language and literature and join us for coffee, food, and talk.
