ULM's Robertson wins national award
Dr. James Robertson, University Registrar at The University of Louisiana at Monroe, has been notified that the refereed publication The SACRAO Journal, which Robertson edited, has been chosen to receive one of three Ockerman State and Regional Professional Activity Awards.
The announcement was made by Karen Hutslar, Chair of the Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers Awards Committee.
The SACRAO Journal is published annually by the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Offices, a professional, 3,000 membership, 13-state organization designed to promote and advance the improvement of admissions, registration, records, data management, international education and financial aid management practices through study, education and research. The organization also seeks to advance professional knowledge and techniques by fostering the exchange of experiences and information and to develop and advance standards of competence in the profession.
This award-winning issue of the Journal featured articles on the Home School Experience, Funding for Electronic Data Interchange and Remedial and Developmental Program Retention, among others.
In his "Editor's Reflections," Robertson noted that this edition is about change. "As the SACRAO membership has proved over the last 100 years, when the concepts of self worth and truth are acknowledged as the primary bases for providing the best service for students and colleagues, one can easily adapt to progressive change," Robertson wrote.
