International Student Week March 15-20 at ULM
International students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will hold their 15th celebration of multinational diversity during International Student Week, March 20-25 on the ULM campus. The announcement came from Vanessa Prevost, President of the International Student Association.
This annual event is presented by students from 54 countries. It was originally started in 1986 as an opportunity for students from different cultures to meet with one another and the Monroe community.
The week's activities will begin with opening ceremonies Monday at 11 a.m. by the Student Union Building. After the flag presentation, there will be a food market and cultural exhibition. Students will present their countries' cuisine and display artifacts, national garments, photos, books, posters and other items in their booths.
During the rest of the week, international students from ULM will compete in several sports against international students from Louisiana Tech University. Cricket and soccer games will be held in Monroe and volleyball and badminton will be played in Ruston.
Members of the Monroe community are invited to attend the events. For more information, contact Dr. Bill Rambin at 342-1391.
