ULM Professor Receives Grant from CDC
Dr. Robert John, the Biedenharn Chair in Gerontology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, has been notified that he is the recipient of a research project award from the Centers for Disease Control through the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine.
John's project is "The Impact of Arthritis Among Aging American Indians." The amount of the award is $299,962.
John has previously received more than $1.4 million in grant funding as Principal Investigator or Project Director from private and federal agencies such as the National Institute on Aging, the Administration on Aging, and the Andrus Foundation, to support research and training projects on minority health, family and aging issues.
A graduate of the University of Kansas with a Ph.D. in Sociology, John has earned Fellowships from the Gerontological Society of America and the National Institute on Aging Predoctoral Traineeship.
