MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe College of Business and Social Sciences and
the Louisiana Tech University College of Business present the Business Outlook Summit
2023 on Friday, November 10, at the ULM Clarke M. Williams Innovation Campus at 100
Centurylink Dr. in Monroe. The Business Outlook Summit provides an economic forecast
of the nation, region, and state, intended to help guide the community and business
leaders as they head into 2024.
The summit will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with breakfast provided. Individual
tickets are $50 and student tickets are $15. A variety of sponsorship levels are also

The event will feature National Outlook Speaker John Stotlzfus, who serves as the
Chief Investment Strategist and Managing Director for Oppenheimer Asset Management.
Local Outlook Speakers include Dr. Patrick Scott, the Patricia Garland Endowed Professor
of Economics at Louisiana Tech University and Dr. Paul Nelson, Professor of Economics
and Director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at ULM.
“The Business Outlook Summit is an amazing resource for the community as businesses
work to wrap up budget season and our region looks ahead at the coming election year
for some insight into inflation and cost of living,” said Cathi Hemed, Director of
External Initiatives at ULM. “The research from Tech and ULM offers a strong snapshot
of not only where we are, but where we are heading that applies to everyone. We are
bringing this event back with a sensational keynote provided by Oppenheimer Asset
Management, who has been a longtime supporter and sponsor of this event,” she added.
