MONROE, LA— The University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts and the Office of Recruitment hosts its annual VAPA Day on Wednesday, Oct. 13. This event is for high school students interested in art, dance, music, and theatre.
"After hosting an online VAPA Day in 2020, we are excited to return to an on-campus event," said James Boldin, DMA, Professor of Music and Associate Director of the School of Visual and Performing Arts. "VAPA Day will include a variety of activities designed to introduce prospective students to the world of visual and performing arts at the collegiate level."

Schedule:
8:30-9 a.m., Brown Auditorium: Registration and check-in with performances by ULM student ensembles
9-9:50 a.m., Brown Auditorium: Welcome and introduction of faculty
10-10:50 a.m.: Masterclasses and other activities provided by ULM faculty and art fair
11-11:50 a.m., Locations vary: Students have the option to choose from several activities.
Percussion Ensemble— Check out the Percussion Ensemble rehearsal in the Band Hall.
Art Fair— Meet outstanding faculty, students, and alumni as they share a variety of activities, demonstrations, and information.
Dance with Us— Faculty and students show a glimpse inside the Dance department in the Dance Annex. Please bring dance attire.
Sing with us— Listen to the ULM choir as they practice together. Discover what it looks like to be a member.
Act with Us— The theatre department will offer improv opportunities and games. Wearing comfortable clothes is recommended.
12-12:50 p.m., Locations vary: Students can participate in the above activities except for Act with Us.
1-1:50 p.m.: Lunch will be provided. Afterward, campus tours and auditions will be offered.
