The University of Louisiana Monroe Concert Choir and Bayou Masterworks Chorale will present “Jubilate Deo” by Dan Forrest at 7 p.m. today, Monday, Nov. 8, at Parkview Baptist Church.
ULM Director of Choral Activities Dr. Deborah Chandler said the concert honors a particular group of people.
“This concert is dedicated to the frontline workers who have worked tirelessly over the last 18 months to ensure we have life to celebrate,” she said.
The text for “Jubilate Deo” is Psalm 100, sung in eight languages.
“This powerful celebration through music proves we are all more alike through music than any other way,” Chandler said.
ULM students and music faculty comprise most of the performers.
“Please come thank our frontline workers and enjoy a wonderful piece of music,” Chandler said.
The performance is free and open to the public. Parkview Baptist Church is located at 1001 Forsythe Ave.
The concert is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division on the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
