The University of Louisiana Monroe Gerontology program is hosting the 2021 Ageless Women’s Leadership Summit: Voices of Experience, from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 9.
The summit is free and available via Zoom.
Registration is required by emailing Anita Sharma, Ph.D., Gerontology program director, at asharma@ulm.edu. Log-in information will be emailed to registrants.
The event coincides with Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on March 8.
Sharma plans to make the summit an annual event. She said it is essential to provide young women with “ … strong female role models to build up a positive self-image. Women who have been in leadership roles for a significant amount of time will share their thoughts and challenges to empower a younger generation of women.”
Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs Shirley Merrick will deliver the keynote address. Guest speakers include Lynda McGehee, Vicki Hilbun, Kathy Spurlock, and Ruth Smith, Ph.D. Patricia Jones will serve as emcee.
