The College of Arts, Education, and Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe is hosting the Spring 2020 ULM Art Crawl at several campus locations from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. A showcase of ULM’s talented students, faculty, staff, and alumni will be on display throughout the crawl.
Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
Participating galleries include The Walker Gallery, CAES Dean’s Conference Room Gallery (Walker 1-47), Bry Art Gallery, Bry Gallery reception area, the Stubbs Hall senior art student studios, and a sculpture walk extending from the ULM Library to Walker Hall.
Professor Joni Henry Noble, Ph.D., of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, recognizes students’ accomplishments, saying, “I am so proud of our ULM art majors and all of their efforts to constantly remain on the creative path. I hope everyone can attend our ULM Art Crawl and meet these talented artists. We are also hosting our 27th Annual High School Competition and Awards Ceremony in Bry Gallery. The high school students are always so excited to be recognized, and each year they seem to be more talented.”

The Dean’s Conference Room will host an exhibition of photography by Prajal Prasai, senior editor of The Hawkeye campus newspaper. Prasai’s work consists of photos of his native country of Nepal and award-winning photos of New York City.
The show in The Walker Gallery highlights the ULM Art Program’s ongoing and in-class work, featuring notes on each student’s creative-thinking process. These include paintings, pottery, sculpture, prints and photographs.
Bry Gallery will display the 27th Annual Jr./Sr. High School Art Competition. The awards ceremony for the high school students begins at 6 p.m. The Bry Gallery reception area will feature recent oil paintings by Kelli Sims, adjunct instructor of art at ULM.
The senior art students’ studios in Stubbs Hall will be open for visitors to meet the artists and observe their works in progress.
A new exhibition of public art sculptures will be installed along a walk between the University Library and Walker Hall. Art students exhibiting their sculptures include Kaitlyn Vaughan, Lexi Smith, Donna Glennon, Brandon Ward, and Elysabeth Peoples.
Campus student-run radio station 91X – KXUL, will broadcast live from Walker Hall across from the Walker Gallery all evening.
The College of Arts, Education, and Sciences is sponsoring this opportunity for the community to walk through the beautiful ULM campus and appreciate the outstanding work of each artist.
