MONROE – The University of Louisiana Monroe invites the campus and the community to
Holidays at ULM on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The ULM Christmas tree at Scott Plaza.
Tuesday is the School of Visual and Performing Arts annual Holiday Concert at 7:30
p.m. in Brown Auditorium. This special event is free and all are invited. The concert
will feature the ULM Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, University Chorale,
and Dance Repertory Ensemble. The doors open at 7 p.m.
Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. is the lighting of the ULM Christmas tree, located in Scott
Plaza. The event is sponsored by the Student Life and Leadership. President Dr. Nick
J. Bruno will welcome the crowd and lead the countdown to lighting the tree.
Miss Louisiana Holli Conway will start the entertainment with a special holiday song,
followed by the Hawkline performing to “Santa Baby.” There will be a skit starring
Ace and the announcement of the winners of the Christmas board and office decorating
contests. Miss Louisiana returns to the stage for a rendition of "Rockin' Around the
Christmas Tree."
Monica Whitman makes her debut as Miss ULM 2019 with a dance performance to "All I
Want for Christmas."
The program wraps up with Mr. ULM Derek Healy’s holiday-inspired mixed martial arts
demonstration.
Afterwards there's plenty to do with a cookout, ULM Cheer face painting, hot chocolate
and cider, donuts, ornament decorating with CAB and cookie decorating with the SGA.
Ace and Santa Claus will be available for plenty of photos.
All events are free and open to the public.
