It’s reality, electronics today can have a short shelf life. Old desktop computers, inkless-printers, broken smartphones and heavy old TVs could be cluttering your space. So what to do with those once beloved tech toys gathering dust?

Here’s an idea – on Saturday bring them to the parking lot at Brown Stadium for safe disposal.

From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Ouachita Green is having Household Hazardous Waste Day as part of the 2017 Great American Clean-Up.

Area residents are welcome to dispose of – at no cost – the following items: paints, pesticides, household cleaners, tires, fuel, refrigerators and electronics. There will be recycling for paper, plastic and scrap iron.

Medical needles (aka sharps) will be accepted for the first time, and paper shredding will be provided by ShredIt (limit three boxes per household).

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and code enforcement officials will be on site to direct traffic.
