Foy created the project earlier this year through her company ARROW Public Art.
She said the community painting is an opportunity to assist in creating a gorgeous landmark that will depict images such as hope, love, community, faith, friendships, and leadership through the eyes of 260 of school age children.
“The response from ULM and the community so far has been amazing. We have had over 100 people come out to help us make this mural a reality and we are excited to paint with those that come out this Saturday,” Foy said.
Parking will be located on the side streets and/or in the parking lots available near Travis and Trenton Streets. Informational tents will be available for questions and directions. Donuts and water will be provided.
All are welcome to participate and no prior artistic experience is needed. The project will be done in a “paint by numbers” style.
Participants may paint for any amount of time and are encouraged to come early to avoid the hotter temperatures and to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
