The ACDA’s primary focus is to support and promote the wealth of talent and creativity that is prominent throughout university dance departments and programs.
Mullone’s duties as a board member include promoting the organization by encouraging dance students, faculty, and departments to become members; encouraging and promoting creative work among faculty as well as students; attending regional and national dance conferences, and being the liaison between the dance department and the regional director.
“This is an organization that benefits college students, professionals, and professors in the arts as the arts are often on the precipice of being cut,” Mullone said. “Being an insider in the organization allows me to communicate directly with the regional directors and national directors and find the necessary networking tools to continue to grow our programs.”
The ACDA sponsors regional conferences for students and faculty to engage in performances, workshops, panels, and master classes taught by instructors from around the country.
Mullone is working with the board to host a conference at ULM in future.
Mullone has taught at ULM for 7 years. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University
of Oklahoma and a graduate degree from Texas Christian University.
