Noble is excited and honored to be a part of the competition. The artwork that has been selected includes black and white pictures of cities she visited including as Berlin, Paris and London.
“Everywhere you turn in Europe is another photo opportunity, so it is easy to be inspired by the cities and the landscapes,” she said.
The exhibit will also feature her “Rectilinear” series, a collection of acrylic paintings created with pixilating techniques. Unlike her black and white photographs, the canvases are wildly colorful.
Not new to recognition, Noble’s work, “Hampton Court Palace Gardens,” won the award for Best Photograph in last year’s show.
“We are so proud of our talented faculty. I attended the Big Easel last year and was very impressed with Joni’s work. I am looking forward to visiting the exhibit again this year,” said Dr. Sandra Lemoine, dean of the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences.
“This recognition demonstrates that the faculty in our college are highly qualified and can share first-hand knowledge and experience with students.”
Noble received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe; a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Louisiana Tech University; and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Art Education from the University of Texas at Austin.
She has taught at ULM since 1997, and she is currently involved with The Catalyst, The Village and The British Studies programs. She is a member of the National Art Education Association, the Louisiana Art Education Association, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Lambda Theta.
