In conjunction with the opening of West Side Story—the 2015 spring musical at the
University of Louisiana at Monroe—an expert panel discussion will be held at 6:30
p.m., March 26, in Brown Auditorium, ahead of the opening night performance.
The panel discussion is free for those with a ticket to Thursday night’s performance
of West Side Story. The show will follow the panel discussion at 7:30 p.m.
The panel will discuss the relevancy and significance of West Side Story’s plotline
and cultural impact to today’s audience.
Panelists include ULM faculty members: Dr. Joshua Stockley, Dr. Mel Mobley, Dr. Neil
White, Dr. Bob Eisenstadt, and Dr. Jana Giles.
Jay Curtis, general manager at KEDM Public Radio, will serve as the discussion moderator.
