ULM to host regional Social Studies Fair March 26

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will host the 49th Annual Region III Social Studies Fair, beginning at 8:15 a.m., on Thursday, March 26 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The fair will bring nearly 450 students from fourth to 12th grades. Participants include students from Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, and West Carroll Parishes.

Students compete in a multitude of disciplines including: anthropology, economics, geography, history, Louisiana history, political science, and sociology.

The fair is divided into three divisions:

Division I is open to fourth and fifth-grade students.

Division II is open to sixth through eighth-grade students.

Division III is open to ninth through 12th-grade students.

Judging will take place from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

The public and the media are invited to view student projects from 12:30-1:30 p.m., and attend the awards ceremony from 1:30-3 p.m.
