Perkins and Munn weren’t the only ULM team to succeed.
The team of Brett Preuett, a graduate student from Colfax, and Jackson Blackett, a biology major of Sterlington, took third, while Nick LaDart a kinesiology major, and Brian Eaton a nursing major, both of Monroe, took tenth.
The two-day tournament on the Ouachita River docked at Forsythe Park, with weigh-in taking place at the Warhawk Circle on the ULM campus.
The event was the first ever Carhartt college event to be held in Louisiana.
The tournament hosted 77 teams from 27 different institutions.
The 13 top teams from the regional tournament qualified for the Carhartt B.A.S.S. National Championship, which will be held this summer.
